Chú heo miền Tây biết trông giữ nhà và 'ăn chay'

Nghe tin giữa miền Tây sông nước bỗng dưng xuất hiện một “lão trư” vừa biết ăn chay lại vừa biết coi nhà cùng nhiều khả năng thông minh đột biến, không ít người vừa ngạc nhiên lại vừa hồ nghi.

Heo cũng quyết ăn chay từ bé

Trong chuyến công tác miền Tây, đi qua vùng Đồng Tháp Mười, nghe kể về con vật lạ, tôi quyết định ghé qua coi tận mặt chú heo được cho là có nhiều biểu hiện “khác thường” để xem thực hư.

Nhà ông Nguyễn Văn Mạo, chủ của chú heo kỳ lạ ở ấp 4, nằm ở xã Mỹ Đông, huyện Tháp Mười, tỉnh Đồng Tháp. Ông là phó ấp ở đây. Mấy người dân khi được hỏi, sau khi biết tôi là nhà báo thì ai cũng đoán ngay là tôi đến tìm con heo kỳ lạ mà ông phó ấp nuôi.

Ông Nguyễn Văn Trung, một người dân ở ấp 4 lắc đầu tủm tỉm cười: “Mới tuần trước tui vào nhà ổng mà còn bị con heo đó rượt tới bến luôn, giống heo chi đâu mà giữ nhà cứ như chó vậy”.

Chú heo luôn rất tận tụy với nhiệm vụ coi nhà của mình

Theo chỉ dẫn của ông Trung, tôi tìm đến ngôi nhà trong cái ngõ sâu hút, ở cuối ấp. Vừa dựng xe máy xuống tôi đã giật mình bởi một con heo mọi (có nơi gọi là lợn Móng Cái), khoảng hơn 100kg đang nằm ngủ bỗng dưng bật dậy nhe nanh “đứng tấn” trước cửa. Do đã lường trước được tình huống này lên tôi đứng ngoài gọi vọng vào trong nhà để nhờ chủ ra dẫn vào.

Ông Mạo đang bận đi ra đồng gieo xạ nên người ra đón tôi là bà Nguyễn Thị Cúc, vợ ông. Ngồi một hồi nói chuyện về những khả năng đặc biệt của chú heo có tên thường gọi là Mép, bà Cúc thấy tôi tỏ vẻ hồ nghi liền bảo cô con gái tên Ngọc Yến vào nhà lấy ra một bát cơm trộn thịt cá cho heo ăn. Mép ngửi ngửi rồi quay ra cửa nằm. Sau đó bà Cúc mới thảy cho nó đoạn mía và mấy miếng bánh mỳ, chỉ trong một loáng, nó đã ăn sạch.

Bà Cúc cho biết, cái chuyện ăn chay của chú heo này cũng là điều vô cùng kỳ lạ. "Hồi mới mua về, trong nhà cũng không biết nó thích ăn gì nên cứ đưa cá với thịt ăn thừa ra cho nó ăn. Ai ngờ Mép dụi dụi rồi bỏ đi, dỗ kiểu gì cũng không ăn. Nó “tuyệt thực” như vậy đến 2 ngày liền, ai cũng nghĩ chắc nó “lạ nhà” nên bị ốm".

Sang đến cuối ngày thứ 2, trong lúc chưa biết xử lý thế nào, bà Cúc mới thử đưa cái bát cơm trộn tương mình ăn không hết cho nó thì nó ăn ngấu nghiến. Thấy lạ cả nhà mới đổ niêu cơm còn lại ra rồi trộn với tương, đến lúc này mới biết Mép không ăn là bởi vì cả nhà cứ ép nó “ăn thịt”. Từ dạo đó, gia đình bà cứ ăn gì thì cho nó ăn nấy, chỉ cần không có mùi thịt cá là được.

Có một điều hơi trái khoáy là tuy “giữ chay” nhưng chẳng hiểu sao heo Mép lại rất thích uống bia. Ngọc Yến, con gái ông Mạo, kể: "Một hôm nhà có khách, ba với mọi người đang uống bia thì thấy nó cứ ngồi cạnh rồi nhìn theo với vẻ “thòm thèm”. Thấy thế một ông khách mới cao hứng “tao chúc mày 2 ly luôn”, rồi đổ bia ra một cái chậu đưa cho nó. Chưa đầy một phút nó đã nốc cạn".

Thương heo như… con

Về nguồn gốc khai sinh của con keo kỳ lạ này, bà Nguyễn Thị Cúc, vợ ông Năm Mạo kể ngày đó trong xóm rộ lên phong trào nuôi heo mọi, mấy nhà xung quanh, nhà nào cũng nuôi một vài con.

"Lúc mới mua về con heo chỉ được độ 3kg, thế nhưng nó quậy dữ quá, chỗ nào cũng sục sạo nên ông bà quyết định nhốt nó vào chuồng. Cứ tưởng như thế là xong, ai ngờ nhốt được một thời gian thì thấy nó tỏ vẻ “bực tức”. Giống heo mọi này khoái được thả, bị nhốt là nó phá. Vả lại mấy đứa trẻ trong nhà quý nó quá cứ thả ra rồi… dắt đi chơi quanh xóm. Lúc đó cái chuồng của nó nằm ở ngoài trời, nhiều hôm mưa gió thấy nó lạnh lại muỗi đốt nên cuối cùng cả nhà quyết định mang nó vào nhà ở cùng với đàn chó cho đông vui".

Về chuyện Mép biết coi nhà thì cả gia đình bà Cúc ai cũng bất ngờ. Khi đó nó khoảng 6 - 7 tháng tuổi, một hôm cả nhà đi vắng hết, chỉ có mình ông Mạo bận việc lúi húi sau nhà. Ông đang làm thì nghe tiếng con Mép cứ hộc lên rồi chạy bình bịch.

Lúc đầu ông tưởng nó nô đùa với mấy con chó nên cũng không quan tâm. Chỉ đến lúc nghe thấy tiếng gọi cửa, ông mới đi ra trước nhà và thấy heo đang “ủi” một người khách của ông ra sân. Ông chú ý thì thấy nếu khách cứ đứng ngoài sân thì không sao, nhưng cứ tiến vào nhà là con Mép lại chạy “đứng tấn” án ngữ, không cho vào. Vậy là ông phải chạy ra nẹt, nó mới chịu nằm im một chỗ để vị khách vào nhà.

Mép chỉ ăn đồ chay và được gia đình chủ nhà xem như... con trong gia đình

Sau lần đó Mép được tin tưởng giao cho trọng trách “coi nhà” và dường như nó rất “hứng thú” với công việc này. Bình thường nó cứ nằm ra vẻ “mơ màng” ở cạnh cửa nhưng chỉ cần có tiếng xe hay tiếng chân người là cái tai của nó ngay lập tức “động đậy”. Với cái dáng vẻ “bệ vệ” cộng với cặp răng nanh chìa ra trông khá ngầu và sự “tận tụy” trong công việc được giao, Mép luôn hoàn thành rất tốt nhiệm vụ. Những khách quen thì không sao, chứ người lạ  "đừng hòng" vào cửa nếu không qua vòng “kiểm soát” của con Mép.

Sự khôn ranh của Mép không chỉ dừng lại ở việc coi nhà. Bà Nguyễn Thị Dung, là chị ruột của bà Cúc, ở cùng nhà, cũng cho biết, bình thường mỗi khi trời nóng bức hoặc “đến cữ” phải tắm là nó tự động chạy ra giếng cọ người vào thành bể, vậy là chủ biết ý ra dội nước rồi tắm cho nó. Ngoài ra con Mép cũng rất “ngoan”, nó không hề "đi bậy" trong nhà. Nếu muốn "đi" nó sẽ chạy ra ngoài sân và đến đúng địa điểm bắt buộc.

Nhìn bề ngoài con Mép có vẻ cục mịch,  những người quen có thể thoải mái trêu đùa, thế nhưng có một đặc điểm là “lão trư” này thuộc loại “thù” khá dai. 

Ngọc Yến kể, có mấy người bạn của ông Mạo là khách quen nên Mép tỏ ra rất hiền lành và nghe lời, nhưng cũng có người hay lợi dụng sự “xuề xòa” của nó để trêu đùa “quá tay”. Những lúc như thế nó thường nằm im chịu đựng, chỉ đợi “kẻ đáng ghét” ngồi yên ổn trên ghế là nó bắt đầu lặng lẽ tiến lại ủi tung cả ghế. Đến lúc vị khách an vị… dưới đất, họ mới chẹp miệng: “con Mép này đúng là không phải tay vừa”.

Hiện tại, Mép đã nặng khoảng hơn 100 kg. Tiếng lạ đồn xa, nhiều người đã tới hỏi mua với giá cao nhưng ông Mạo lắc đầu. Ông nói: “Tôi để nuôi khi nào nó chết tôi chôn chứ không bán”.

Không chỉ ông Mạo mà tất cả người trong nhà đều rất quý Mép. Thậm chí những người con của ông còn gọi nó với cái tên rất gần gũi là “em Mép” và coi nó như… một thành viên trong nhà. Vỗ vỗ vào đầu chú Mép, bà Cúc tủm tỉm: "Cả tôi nhiều lúc cũng thương nó như… con vậy".
